Last week I shared with you one of our most favorite Holiday Traditions. Today I am back with a classic, decorating day!
We are one of those families who anxiously wait all November until after Thanksgiving to decorate. I think one year I decorated before Thanksgiving and it just wasn't the same.
From as far back as I can remember, decorating day has been exactly the same. My sisters and I would rush home from school, change into our pj's and throw on a Santa hat.
The Christmas tunes would be blasting as we trimmed the tree and sipping on hot choco.
They really need to come up with a way to have hot choco 'on tap' at home!
My mom would also set out a platter of her test batch of Christmas cookies, along side some Little Debbie Christmas Tree treats.
Then once it was all finished and cleaned up my two younger sisters and I would scavenge through the toy catalogs making our wish lists to send to Santa.
Even 15+ years later it is no different ! Actually it is even more special this year because this is our first Christmas in our new house !! It has been fun finding new, clever places to place all of our Christmas decor and treasures.
I hope I am able to keep these traditions alive for many years to come. Before my munchkins are munchkins anymore and have holiday traditions of their own.

ReplyDeleteSuch great traditions! Those cookies look delicious who wouldn't want to test those. We are going to test out some toys too. It should be a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteWe love decorating, and visiting with our family. One of my favorite traditions is spending a fun Christmas Eve together with my large family.
