I did receive this product as a part of ipsy's LashBash party kit. There is no incentive for me to do this review and as always all opinions / results are that of my own.
Check out how my Girl's Night In Party went.
Before I start: I would hope that you guys know me by now. I am by far not a brand brat or only use high end / expensive products. Actually I am quite the opposite. If I can get away with using or heck find a comparable drug store product, I am all about it. However, when it comes to this mascara, so far, there hasn't been anything I have tried that compares.
Read on and see why this mascara has earned a Sparkle Me Pink Award !

Better yet, give this pic a double tap to show it some love :-)
OK seriously, how amazing is this They're Real
mascara by Benefit?
No filter, no editing, no false lashes.
Just my real lashes after applying They're Real mascara by Benefit.
I'll admit, I am pretty surprised by the results too. Then again I also expect a mascara that costs $23 to hopefully do what it claims !! Speaking of which, according to the product description They're Real
is supposed to : Lengthen, curl, volumize, lift & separate; and for me it does exactly that !! PLUS I am not the only one who thinks so. If you click the link then you will see that this mascara has been given 4.3 kisses out of 5 on Ulta's website.
What about the other .7 ?
Here are some of the cons that are listed :
Difficult to remove -- um I want my mascara to be difficult to remove !! or it will smudge under my eyes by the ends of the day - which this does not - use a makeup removing wipe or oil makeup remover to help take this off at bed time)
Sticky texture -- Mine has not been stringy, gloppy or sticky at all
Dries out quickly -- maybe ? I have only had mine for a little over a week so far
Smudges or runs Flakes -- as I mentioned in con no. 1, mine did not run flake or smudge under my eyes at all !!
Overall I am SUPER impressed with this mascara's formula and even more surprisingly its synthetic spiky brush. I am not usually a fan of plastic mascara brushes. I plan to keep an eye out for some bonus gift with purchase offers, discount codes or some other goodies that will make purchasing this a bit less of a blow to my mental and thrifty makeup budget.
I would love to see your #realsies lashes Tweet / Instagram me a picture !
