All About Walgreens NEW Healthcare Clinic and How Their Services Will Make Your Life a Little Easier #healthcareclinic #shop

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and their client.

We have all been there, where you wake up and just know you're getting sick. You don't want to be a hypochondriac so you wait a few days figuring it'll just go away on it's own, but it doesn't. Now you have a full blown chest cold, sinus infection or maybe even bronchitis-awesome. You finally give in and call your primary care doctor but of course their next available appointment is in 2 days, dude by then you'll be dying ( OK not literally but it certainly feels that way when you are not feeling well ) So your choices now are to wait for hours in a crowded urgent care waiting room where gosh knows what germs are floating around or better yet pay and arm and a leg at the emergency room. OR you could just simply head over to your local Walgreens. More specifically select one that has their new and improved Walgreens Healthcare Clinic.

Previous called the Walgreens 'Take Care Clinic' the company has listened to your feedback and has totally revamped their clinic's services. With expanded services such as :

Vaccines. Think Flu shot, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis/Whooping Cough (Tdap), MMR, HPV and a bunch more.

Physicals & Wellness VisitsHealth Screenings & Testing. Think Blood pressure, Cholesterol, Diabetes screening & counseling.

TONS of Treatment Services. Think Seasonal Allergies, sinus infections, joint pain, cold, cough & flu plus tons more.

Newly added to the menu of services, Monitoring & Management. Think Ongoing Health Conditions such as :

Acid influx & acid indigestion
Asthma / Chronic bronchitis
Cardiovascular Conditions
High blood pressure
High cholesterol
Minor depression
Osteoarthritis/ Osteoporosis
Thyroid disorders
Medications & Treatments :
Breathing treatments with nebulizer
EpiPen refills / Injection services
Medication renewal /Travel medications

With board-certified Family Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants you can trust their professional care. You can also expect a follow-up phone call within 48 hours of the visit ! Another benefit of visiting a Walgreens Healthcare Clinic is that there are more than 370 Healthcare Clinic locations nationwide, find one near you. Of course walk-ins are welcome or you can schedule and appointment online! You can also check online what the walk in waiting time is as well, I just checked my local store : Clinic walk-in wait time: No Wait -- how cool is that feature ?? Then upon arrival there is a simple touch screen check-in with clear information about your wait time. PLUS the Walgreens Healthcare Clinic is open 7 days a week and weeknights, too!

Now that you know the Walgreens Healthcare Clinic can take care of whatever your aliment may be and get you in to see the doctor faster than other options, how much is this visit going to cost ?? Walgreens Healthcare Clinic accepts most insurance plans, see the list of accepted insurances for your area. Though it does depend on your insurance just how much the co-payment may be, this will be collected during your visit. If you don’t have insurance, (like me) the Healthcare Clinics services are way more affordably priced than a traditional physician office, urgent care, and emergency room visits. Visit the Price Menu for the cost of each procedure, diagnostic test and vaccine.

Now I wish I had known about these services 2 weeks ago when AJ was super sick and missed 2 days of school !! I think I told you guys about that, he had a 103.8 fever for like 3 days straight but with minimal symptoms. Before you judge me I did administer him Tylenol and Advil on a rotation schedule but every time I tried to see if he could go without the meds his fever would shoot back up again. Anyways, we ended up taking him to the urgent down the road here who did take his insurance but 4 hours later and $60 plus another $60 in meds I really wish I could have gone into the local Healthcare Clinic waited what maybe 15 - 20 minutes paid the lower co-pay and been right there in the Pharmacy area to fill his prescription. No running around, no super long wait time and would have just been way less hassle in general. The kid didn't even have strep, which is the only thing I could think of since he was puking, pooping nasty or being super whiney. In my opinion next time one of the kids is sick like that and we can't get an appointment with their primary care doctor (which are seriously 3 days out usually) we will be hitting up my local Walgreens Healthcare Clinic !

These services may also appeal to those who don't have primary care physician, who work traditional work hours since Walgreens has hours into the evening and the weekends.People new to the area, People who are impatient ( not me - psht ). because like I said before you can check the website to see if there is a wait and if not, just pop in and be seen. Also, since Walgreens is in every neighborhood, if someone doesn't have a car, they can likely walk or take public transportation.

The clinic also occasional runs promo special such as this Back to School one going on right now.
Let me know in the comments below if you have ever visited a Walgreens Healthcare Clinic before or if after learning a bit more about it today if you will be in the future.

  1. I've got to be honest, I didn't know that Walgreens has a health clinic, I just think of it as a drug store -- a place to shop. I guess I better change my thinking.

    1. No worries I totally thought the same way , their services will send come In handy in the future

  2. I have actually been to a Walgreens health clinic & liked the service I received and saving money. Thank you for reminding me so that I can use them again in the future.

  3. I LOVE tha Walgreens is doing this - finally somewhere reputable for a walk-in clinic!

  4. It's too bad that I don't have access to a Walgreens!!! There isn't one in Southeast Alaska!!

    1. Where in SEAK do you live? I'm from Juneau but sadly don't live there anymore. :(

  5. I'm so glad you guys have a cheaper place to go rather than the urgent care clinic now! And having the pharmacy in the same place is so much easier than running around. I wish we had a Walgreens healthcare clinic in North Carolina!

  6. I should check out my local WalGreens and see if it offers these services. It would be a lot more convenient and depending on the co-pay, a lot less expensive than going to the hospital.
