Forgot to send out your Christmas cards

It’s OK. It is not too late!

Grab a family photo ( even a goofy one) from this year and upload it to the Minted website. They offer hundreds of templates that are quick to ‘try on’ your special photo. If that seems too easy ( you over achiever ) you can customize the font, design placement, and colors. What I did was use the template the way it was but added our names to the bottom to give it what I felt was a reasonable amount of personal touch. The design I chose, Wonderfully Merry Holiday Photo Cards - Version 1

Edit to add — They have ones that say Happy New Years too. So don’t feel bummed if you know your cards won’t get sent out in time for Christmas. You have a whole week in between to get these out to your friends and family.

You can choose to have it set up as a one sided flat card, double sided flat card or traditional folded over card. I opted for the double sided flat card. It was only an additional $16 total for the 25 cards I was ordering. Worth it in my opinion. On the back of the card I plopped in a few selfies and close ups of the kids. I edited the prewritten blurb to fit ‘our story’ and moved on to customizing the shipping envelope.

I opted to have the addresses of the recipients printed on the shipping envelopes. No extra charge for this! I did add on custom return label stickers since I didn’t feel like writing our address 25 times. This was an additional $18. Worth it but a bit pricy.

I personally chose to have my 25 Christmas cards printed on recycled paper. Simply because I like the idea of reduce-reuse-recycle when I can.

Something that gave me piece of mind was knowing I would love the cards even before they arrived. I knew exactly how they would look. Plus I had the added confidence of having their design proof reader look over my card design before sending it to print. My total for my 25 cards, and the few things I upgraded was just over $100. In my opinion that is reasonable and absolutely worth it. I would order from Minted again. The site was easy to use. Had designs created by independent artists, the upgrade options are endless or you can totally stick with the pre-chosen selections and still have a gorgeous card. The cards arrived beautifully and carefully packaged. All I had to do was put the cards in the envelopes, seal them and put a stamp. — Mined does offer customized stamps but I felt that was going a bit too far for my taste.
