Our Special Holiday Tradition

My family loves Christmas time.

We love baking cookies together, decorating the house but surprisingly there is one tradition in particular that we all look forward to the most.

Our Couch, Cuddle & Choco evenings.

Around Christmas time our weekly Pajama Party Friday's turn into Couch, Cuddle & Choco evenings. Yes, we have nicknamed themes for just about everything we do. ie: Dance Party Wednesdays.

It all starts at the store. Right about when they really start stocking the shelves with Holiday garb, we head out to select that years Christmas book. This year we found our special book while perusing Walmart. There was this awesome aisle filled with all kinds of Northpole goodies by Hallmark.
Now there were a couple of books to choose from but we all agreed on getting the, Once Upon A Northpole Christmas story book. We selected the bonus pack which came with a Northpole Find Me, Santa! Snowflake. ($19.97 - Exclusively at Walmart) We also picked out a few other really cute Northpole by Hallmark toys but more on that later.
So now that we have our book every Friday (and sometimes just randomly throughout the week) we rush home to change into our pj's. Then after dinner we cuddle up on the couch to read our Christmas books together while sipping hot chocolate. By the way, mini marshmallows are a must!
I know to some this may just sound like a normal everyday thing but for us it is very special. Between football practice, dance classes, volunteering in the school, working here on my blog and everything else, its easy to get distracted and let the days pass us by. Fridays are our special 'no one makes other plans' Couch, Cuddle & Choco nights. It is even more enjoyable now that my eldest is learning to read. He is growing up so fast!
On this particular evening I baked up some pre-formed sugar cookies and served them on this adorable new serving plate. This is one of two designs in the Northpole by Hallmark collection. The plate also comes with a little spreader too - great gift idea to pair with some cheese and wine.
We also grabbed a Rolling Cookie Cutter for when I make my scratch sugar cookies. The kids are totally excited to use this.

They are also looking forward to making their own snow! Being Arizona babies neither have ever experienced snow before. Snow Now! Instant snow: just add water and a little magic.
 Are you planning on picking up any of these Northpole by Hallmark products ?
Oh and these Magic snowballs. They light up !
Our choco mugs are also part of the Northpole by Hallmark collection.

Let me know what some of your cherished Holiday traditions are in the comments below.

* Merry Christmas *
