When it comes to eating healthy I'll be honest, I've have been kinda slacking lately. Between drive thru foods and I have chocolate up the wazoo thanks to Mike being a good guy - Did you see that post on my Instagram ? It's almost out of control. Luckily I have found a new favorite quick, easy and best of all better option for dinner and it's NEW Freschetta Gluten Free Pizza.
Now I am from New York OK I know good pizza and this is a dang good frozen pizza. With nice thin and crispy crust it's actually light enough that I have made this for lunch for the kids and myself. Then to hearty it up a bit for dinner time I serve a slice along side some spinach salad with oil and vinegar dressing, mmmm perfection. This cooks up pretty quickly too, in about 12 minutes to be exact. I recommend that you preheat the oven with your pizza pan in it and spray the center of the pan very, very lightly with some spray butter. I had some troubles with the center of the pizza sticking to my pizza pan. Then again that pizza pan is like 5 years old and is pretty used if you know what I'm saying.
This here is the NEW Freschetta Gluten Free Pizza, 4 Cheese Medley
I didn't tell the kids that the pizza was gluten-free the first time I served it to them. I wanted to see if they thought it tasted weird or different. I mean lets face kids don't have filters, they'd be the first ones to say it tasted funny but they didn't.
Even my son, the pickiest of the pickiest didn't say anything about it and even went back up for seconds. See none of use actually have a gluten intolerance / allergy or really any sort of dietary restrictions but I do try to it cut out of our diets as much as I can when I can. I find that when I eat gluten heavy foods I always feel so weighed down, slow and tired maybe that's just me? I did see on the box that this new Freschetta pizza is certified by the Celiac Sprue Association.
I also read on there that Freschetta Gluten Free Pizza is made with the freshest ingredients. That means 100 percent real premium blend of cheese toppings, including mozzarella, fontina, parmesan and Asiago, combined with a rich, flavorful pizza sauce on the “4 Cheese Medley” variety and loads of pepperoni on the “Signature Pepperoni Pizza” variety. I could only find the cheese version at our local Fry's Supermarket which was priced at $9.99 (Kroger). I don't think I've looked anywhere else for them yet.
I threw a little garlic powder and Italian seasonings on top of my slices.
Overall my family really did enjoy this pizza and I plan on keeping on stocked in the freezer for those night that I just don't feel like cooking - cooking. Definitly a favorite !
