Hask Hair Products : Argan and Keratin Hair Care Review

I have received product samples to facilitate this review however this post is 110% my own words and honest opinion
Today I am sharing with you two sets of hair car products from the brand Hask Hair. One being their Argan products and the other is a Keratin based line. Both lines consist of Shampoo, Conditioner, Deep Conditioner and Shine Oil.

Now before I get into the products here is a little knowledge about Hask Hair. First of all, Hask products are made in the USA! Which is always awesome. They are also cruelty-free!! Their products are also Free of: sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, alcohol, and artificial colors. That means they are totally safe to use on color treated and damaged hair.

I have had these for a few weeks now so I've had a good chance to try out each product to give you my full honest opinion on them.

Lets start with the Shampoo and Conditioners - Argan vs Keratin

In my experience both shampoos and conditioners perform similarly in the shower. Straight from the bottle the shampoos are a creamier thicker consistency than that of traditional shampoos I've used. The conditioners are also a nice stiff thick creamy texture which I really like because they leave my hair feeling soft in the water. That probably sounds weird but I've tried other natural shampoos/conditioners and they tend to leave my hair feeling dry even in the shower.

The Argan Oil from Morocco Shampoo & Conditioner revives and restores the look of your hair. They are infused with moisturizing Argan Oil. This oil penetrates the hair shaft, gently softening and detangling while protecting against damage and breakage, leaving even the most rebellious hair frizz-free, silky-soft and super glossy. For me I don't grab for this set as much as I do for the Keratin set. I feel like this formula is a bit heavier/greasier on my hair and is difficult to totally wash out. I partly blame my shower water and it's also possible I am not totally washing it all out since it is a pretty thick lather and I do have a ton of hair. This argan set is said to Strengthen and Restore.
The Keratin Protein Shampoo & Conditioner is said to Soften and Renew hair. It is infused with Hydrolyzed Keratin to reduce frizz and block humidity. These gently cleanse the hair leaving even the most unruly hair soft and revitalized with incredible shine. Ideal for frizzy, dry or color-treated hair. However, just like the Argan set, the Keratin version also builds a bit at my roots making them feel grippy and heavy. Now the Keratin one only does this after I have used it for a few days in a row while the Argan one does this after just one wash.

Both have an earthy fragrance to them which kind of reminds me of hot tea for some reason. I do feel like the keratin one has a bit of a sweeter note to it which I tend to gravitate towards.
As for the deep conditioners, just like with the shampoo/conditioners I tend to use the Keratin Smoothing Deep Conditioner version over the Argan Repairing Deep Conditioner. I really do like the fragrance of the Keratin set. Both are a perfectly ultra thick in consistency but they disperse effortlessly through my hair. These are the perfect weekly hair masque treatment. They both really left my hair feeling super soft and healthy looking - as if I just had a hair cut
When it comes to these oils I will be honest I did not give these as much of a go as I should have. I am sort of a hair oil snob since I already have a holy grail conditioning oil for my hair- if you've been following me a while you probably know what that is. I did however use these more on my daughters thinner wavier hair. To compare these two right off the bat, I knew I would like the Keratin one - not only because I really liked the other Keratin products already but because of its consistency.
The Argan Repairing Shine Oil is quite thick - think honey.
While the Keratin Protein Smoothing Shine Oil is a bit waterier.

My daughters pretty little ringlets can get a little out of hand sometimes so I just rubbed a bit of the oil on my fingers and passed it through her hair. I usually use the Keratin one. It leaves her hair with a beautiful shine and smoothness to it without a weighed down oily feeling.

The Verdict : I really like the Keratin line. It was a fresh earthy scent and the products leave my hair, and my daughters, soft, bouncy and shiny.

Have you tried Hask products before ?

By the way , you should be able to find these products at your local Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS and Kmart.

  3. No, I have never tried these products before but I am willing to try anything that will help alleviate all of my frizzies. I will have to check the local stores to see if they carry this brand. Thanks for the review!
