Aurorae Yoga Mat and Bag REVIEW

Did you know that according to Statistic Brain as of July this year about 15 million Americans practice yoga ?! Who knew ?
Are you a yoga fan ? I wish I practiced more often. Since starting my journey to a healthier, fitter me a little over a week ago, I have found myself pulling out the ol'yoga mat and realized I never shared it with you guys !!!  Especially with the Holidays quickly approaching and those trusty New Years Resolutions being dusted off, I figured now is the perfect time to share this with you guys. I did receive this mat and bag complementary from Aurorae, but as always all reviews and opinions are 100% my own.
This is my beauty
At 1/4" (or 6mm) this ultra thick memory foam mat is the perfect amount of softness and grippiness that a yoga mat should have. It is not too swooshie that your sinking into the thing which can cause you to go off balance and it's not paper thin either. It is just right to protects your hands, knees and joints from hard floors. I really like that it is pretty long too, 72" to be precise. Of course (like many of the products I use) this mat it is totally Toxin free, Phthalate free, Silicone free and Latex free.  Plus it is bio-degradable.
Care for an Aurorae mat is easy too! Simply wash your mat down with a soft brush and a non oil based soap or detergent, then rinse off. Bam your done ! Be sure not to apply any creams or lotions before your yoga sesh especially ones that are oil based. Oils break down the fibers of the mat decreasing its lifespan. I just always wash my hands and rinse my feet in the tub right before I start. Easy for me to do since I really only do my stretches at home opposed to the gym - yea I'm not that confident, yet, to be doing yoga in front of other people.
Another really cool thing about these Aurorae mats is that they come in an array of colors. Each one with its own aura about it. Mine is in the shade Midnight which emanates Confidence, Power, Stability, Unity, Elegance and Mystery.

Did I mention that these mats are super affordable ?! Right now they are on sale for $35.00 & FREE Shipping on Amazon !!
Aurorae also offers these handy slip free resin bags too - Great for those of us who tend to sweat a lot or if you are having troubles with slippage on the mat. Just give your hands and feet a light dusting and you are good to go.
Now this bag or 'The Mat Sak' is an ingenious idea! Not only does it perfect nestle your bag for easy travel and storage, it also has zipper pockets to hold all your belongings. Which is perfect if you practice out side your home. For me, what separates this bag from all others on the market is the quality of the denim. Made with 100% Premium Ring Spun Cotton Denim, 'The Mat Sak' is washed and broken in just like your favorite pair of jeans. I would recommend this even if you already own a different yoga mat. Of course I suggest you trade that mat in for an Aurorea though; you will notice the difference!
Overall I am a super fan of Aurorae and plan to keep going back to them with all of my yoga yogi needs. I want to get one of their soy candles or super soft yoga outfits next :-)

  6. ~ So love the Auroe yoga mat; toxin free, phthalate free, lilicone free and Latex free. Plus it is bio-degradable. It's also memory foam but not too thick to be squishy. Comes in a great assortment of colors. Then the most adorable Mat Sak... how cute is that? I didn't see a price on that, but it can also be used for the college student to transport stuff in. PS. Something I learned... not to wear lotions etc when using the yoga mat... it breaks the material down.

  17. That bag is Awesome first off it has pockets and remind me of like reusing a old pair of jeans to make that.. So freaking cool... and that mat looks really cool and sound even more awesome considering it absorbs the sweat, helps your feet to grip, and that its not sticky.. I'm not a fan of sticky stuff lol..

  26. The Aurorae Yoga Mat is thicker than most and offers more grip which is good for balancing and keeping upright when you want.
The denim bag looks like it would hold a lot and is a softly washed denim, so it would feel good to lean on and has a strap looks like an overall strap.
