My Seat Belt Purse - Maggie Bags Review

I am super excited to tell you guys about this product I am reviewing !!  The product truly gives a new meaning to the saying 'One person's trash is another one's treasure

The company, Maggie Bags, create fashionable yet functional handbags and purses made out of rejected automotive seat belt webbing ! Naturally before seat belts can be installed in a vehicle they must meet government safety standards to protect you in your car. Due to these high standards, millions of yards of seat belt material are rejected by automakers each year! So instead of wasting all of that material Maggie Bags turns around and uses as much of this rejected material as possible in their products.
Maggie Bags purses, totes and other accessories are super sturdy, "green" and fabulously unique.
"We are using a material that is not originally designed to bend and move in the way we are using it.  As a result not every bag will have perfect lines, perfect shapes or perfect construction.  It is part of what makes our products so unique." Constructing a Maggie Bag
The style I fell in love with is the Campus Tote in Autumn
With bountiful inner pockets, a zipper compartment and a sturdy composition, this is the perfect all around bag. The Campus Totes can translate into and for any purpose. The colors are so bold and vibrant I just couldn't keep my eyes off the bag when it arrived.
The base has these little metal nubs to protect the bottom of the bag.
The Campus Tote has a zipper closure which opens up to a beautiful bright purple satin-y inside. On one side there is a zipper compartment and on the other two pouch like pocket. I often use these pouch pockets to hold my cell phone and keys.

I haven't cleaned my own bag yet but according to the Maggie Bags site, care for the bag is pretty straight forward: machine washable on a “delicate” wash cycle with chlorine-free detergent and lay flat to dry.

Overall I am super impressed with the construction of the bag. It is certainly durable but a bit hefty. I do wish the liner of the bag wasn't a satin, as those tend to stain easy for me. Being that the bag is already on the heavier side I'm sure that is why they picked the light weight liner material. Keep in mind these bags come with a limited lifetime warranty, see their site for more info on that.

  54. I Love Maggie Bags! I love so many of their styles - among my most favorites are the:
Bailey Bag and Bucket Tote (I love crossbody styles) - but I also love so many others, like the
Butterfly Bag, Cicily Tote, Campus Tote and Tote of Many Colors (both striped and solid colors)

Which leads me to my other problem in choosing a bag/tote/purse from Maggie Bags: the colors are brilliant, truly dazzling. And their selection is authentically awesome! Honestly, for each of the six different style bags I covet - in each case there are AT LEAST TWO colors I really want it/them in - in some cases even three or four. They really are gorgeous!

I think I'd have to flip a coin to decide between the Turquoise and Autumn, though I must add that Shifting Sands, Magenta and Ultraviolet all come in a very close second...

And thank you so very much for this wonderful wonderful giveaway!!
